About Me

To me, life is a continuum of moments given to us from God.  How we spend our moments defines who we are and who we will become. It is our responsibility to make our moment’s beautiful.

I was born on Long Island New York.  I was raised in Colorado and grew up with two sisters.  I went to Longmont High School, where I  met my future husband.  I later graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder where I studied Sociology.  I currently attend graduate school at CU Denver in Early Childhood Education.

I actively help the community with my past career experience in criminal justice by writing about social and restorative justice and offering classes and seminars for the community.  I volunteer and work with agencies who assist with homelessness and various  community outreach events.

I teach preschool at Cross of Christ Preschool, in Broomfield. I actively teach art workshops with The Other Side Arts, in Denver and Aurora.

During my leisure, I enjoy hiking, traveling, music, photography, papermaking, and spending time with my church community, family, and friends.

As an artist I believe that I have an obligation to speak about love and compassion in ways that only the heart can feel.  My art expresses pure and sincere joy, passion, love, and empathy.  Strong and loving emotions fill my artistic dreams as I hope that we can overcome any image that attempts to destroy the human and loving spirit. I work with mixed media, bronze, fiber, paper, and ceramics.  I do this because I appreciate and wish to speak with many voices of artistic expression.  My faith has played a huge part in my expression of love.  It is my belief that we are on earth to help each other, and love each other.  When we express true joy with others, we have an opportunity to share peace and harmony.  As you look at my art, I hope that you too feel and recall  love in it’s many different forms. My greatest joy is exploring art as an expression and I believe that teaching offers the greatest opportunity for that journey.  As an instructor with The Other Side Arts, and a teacher at Cross of Christ Preschool, I am able to work with diverse communities to reach an audience who otherwise might live without avenue for self-expression.
